Monifa Maat is a wellness educator, author, performing artist, and the founder of Be It Enterprises LLC, a certified MWBE wellness company dedicated to elevating community health through creativity, compassion, and culturally responsive programs.
She is the creator of Bed Aerobics Fitness Flow™, a bed-based fitness and healing system designed to help individuals restore strength from the inside out.
With more than 20 years of experience in public health and community wellness, Monifa has built a body of work that spans publishing, programs, and productions—all rooted in the belief that wellness is a lifestyle, a practice, and a choice.
Her work includes the award-winning theatrical initiative CRAVE!, diabetes prevention workshops, senior fitness classes, and faith-fueled wellness programs that bridge generations
She has also been practicing as a specialist in corrective exercise for over 12 years, including independent collaboration with Dr. Jeffrey Chow at Physical Therapy of Harlem to support patient recovery and wellness.
These experiences deepened her commitment to bridging clinical care with accessible, community-centered movement practices and advancing health equity.
Her programs and publications have been featured on BronxNet, News12, and across numerous NYC community health initiatives, where she is celebrated for helping individuals and communities reclaim strength, resilience, and healthy motivation.
Monifa is a certified Diabetes Prevention Specialist and an inaugural graduate of the Community Science Institute at CUNY, where she trained in cancer research, clinical trial design, and community engagement.
Through her leadership, Be It Enterprises continues to deliver innovative wellness solutions that inspire movement, mindset, and motivation—empowering people to truly Choose to Be.
